Drink Seminar: Rock Juice II

Event Description

This series is all about geologic wines!  Throughout wine’s lengthy history, certain vine and rock relationships have revealed themselves.  It’s well known that chardonnay adores limestone, but did you know that gamay and syrah make their finest wines on granite soils, and cabernet sauvignon thrives in gravels, especially on the Left Bank of Bordeaux.  Riesling reaches sublime heights on 400-million-year-old slate slopes of the Mosel, and great Port comes from the crumbly schists of the Douro Valley.  A rock nerd since a child, DJ will teach you how to identify rock signatures in the wineglass.

Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable. This is a 19+ event, therefore children will not be admitted. Due to liquor licensing, the Whistler Conference Centre cannot allow people under the age of 19 in any part of the building for the duration of the Cornucopia event.
