Keith Nicholson is a certified Sommelier, who has spent his career in the wine, spirits and hospitality business. He is the owner and lead instructor at Statera Academy in Vancouver where they teach Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) classes in Wine, Spirits, and Sake, as well as teach the Edinburgh Whisky Academy (EWA) certificate courses. He has both his diploma in Scotch Whisky from EWA and diploma in Wine from WSET. Keith has worked on the hospitality side with over twenty-seven years within restaurant management and running wine programs at some of Vancouvers top dining establishments. Except, as he says, the weekend he spent two years in Whistler running the wine program at The Bearfoot Bistro having the time of his life. He is also the Vice President with the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers (CAPS) BC chapter.
