Colin’s love of wine began while bartending at a French bistro in Vancouver and taking trips around the world to wine regions including France, Italy, Germany, California, Oregon, Washington, and locally to the Okanagan Valley, back when our industry was much smaller. After pursuing his business degree at Simon Fraser University while teaching skiing at Blackcomb Mountain, he returned to his roots in hospitality with turns as a partner, general manager, wine director and owner at various Vancouver restaurants. He has also spent time as a wine agent & WSET educator in both Wine and Spirits. He now resides in the Okanagan where he is the manager of Tightrope Winery on the Naramata Bench. He also continues to teach WSET classes as well as the Wine Growers British Columbia Ambassador Program.
