Il Caminetto Presents: Ricasoli A Taste of History

Event Description

Dine directly with living history for a magnificent and intimate grand finale to the Cornucopia festival. Join Mikaela George of Icon Vins Fins and a special guest Export Manager straight from Ricasoli—Italy’s oldest winery and the second-oldest family-owned enterprise in the world.

Dating back to 1141 at the iconic Castello di Brolio—a breathtaking medieval fortress that once defended the Florentine Republic—the Ricasoli legacy is unparalleled. This is an estate of such immense historical magnitude that its visionary descendant, Baron Bettino Ricasoli (known as the "Iron Baron" and the second Prime Minister of a unified Italy), spent 30 years conducting meticulous research before officially authoring the original Chianti Classico recipe in 1872.

Step into the very birthplace of Chianti through an exclusive evening featuring a sophisticated welcome reception and a stunning, terroir-driven multi-course menu. Guests are invited to comprehensively explore this house's historic full portfolio, capturing the purest expressions of their legendary terroir. Crafted by Culinary Director James Walt, Executive Chef Mark Mcloughlin, and their team, the cuisine highlights exquisite late-autumn seasonal ingredients meticulously designed to pair flawlessly with these historic vintages—now guided by the 32nd generation of the Baronial family. Join us for a magnificent grand finale to the festival, celebrating a winemaking legacy of nearly 900 years in a truly unforgettable, luxurious setting.
